I build integration APIs in a Kafka-heavy AWS environment, and I write things down. Most of what I know came from documenting systems either nobody else documented or problems i actually ran into and not some fluff shared from a youtube video or how to diagram.
- Self-hosted everything — a Raspberry Pi named Aristotle running a small ecosystem of tools I wrote instead of subscribing to.
- Learning in public — the personal projects mirror the work stack on purpose. Deliberate practice, not portfolio filler.
Everything is named after Greek institutions of learning, because at some point a naming convention becomes a commitment.

Zero-dependency Node.js and plain markdown files, mostly. I'd rather understand the thing I'm running than install the thing that already works.
